I have been trying to weigh the pros and cons and would appreciate any inputs from you all.
Some B-School applications, for instance, McCombs, ask for your website/blog details, in addition to your LinkedIn profile link, to "get to know you more".
I have a blog which is mostly a personal account, professional details/ opinions are avoided.
I am confused if I should provide the link to blog in the application. The positive impact that I can see from this is that they will know for sure that my essays are self-written :D
And probably that my communication is above average, specially since I requested for TOEFL waiver.
However I am not sure if the fact that most of the account is personal, some talking about uncertainty and confusion in life, would in anyway be held against me. I mean, there is little to offer in terms of "why MBA" from the blog per-se.
What do you think?

Hey there,
The rule of thumb is generally this: if the blog is ultra personal in nature (i.e. rants, personal musings, etc.) then think carefully about it. However, if there is something unique about your blog (e.g. we had a client who had a blog where he talked about a new song every day) then it can definitely be added because it's pretty unique!

What do you generally discuss in your blog? If you discuss general and varying topics, the blog could give the adcoms an insight to your thinking and let them know you as a person. The pros you mention are indeed valid.
If the blog posts about the issues on uncertainty and confusion are very old, then you needn't worry as it is highly unlikely that they would go through every post on your blog. Also, it is okay if you had doubts and uncertainty in the past. What matters is that you are clear now on you want to pursue in the future especially your post-MBA goals. In addition, by the time you apply, it would be good if you can post a few articles discussing your MBA journey.
