Hi All,
Reading a lot of stuff on how to write essays, I understood one thing very clearly. You shouldn't tell adcoms stories, you must show them the story. While this is very true for essays, this is all the more true and applicable for recommendations. Rumor says that essays and recommendations carry 20% weightage each!
I was in a dilemma as to how to prep my recommenders and as to how to go about sharing the whole lot of information I have about each of my target schools. I sat for 3 days straight and prepared with this PPT, got inputs from my target school students and alums and tweaked it a little and presented it last week to my recommenders. I had blocked an hour and half of their time and the attempt appears to be a great success.
