I need a good answer for the following question:
What would you say are the applicant’s key weaknesses or areas for improvement?
Would it be ok to write that the applicant does not always freely talk about its thoughts and ideas in a team work? I mean like he/she rather waits until anyone else brings up something..
F.ex. XY has great ideas, however, sometimes he/she does not always openly express his/her opinion... and so on; and then try to say something like he/she still tries do make a lot of valuable contributions to discussions (when he/she is certain about a specific topic/fact.) --> maybe levae that in the brackets out
Or is that a real "lack of leadership/self-confidence"? It's not for an MBA application, but for a pre-experience Masters in Management at a b-school.
I hope you know what I mean. I'd be grateful if anyone could give me his or her opinion ASAP since I have to submit it today. thanks!

Well, given you have to submit today, I think that's a perfectly fine thing to talk about. It's not particularly unique and I can't speak to how it fits into your overarching strategy, but it's a fairly common development need for many applicants so just know you won't be the only one talking about that!

I know this is too late for lou34 but hopefully it can help other readers who are stuck with this question.
The best way to attack this is to find weaknesses that are genuine and "non cliche". You then need to talk about actions you are taking to overcome these weaknesses. B-Schools like to see that you are self aware and proactive.
For those of you that think you've hit a brick wall when it comes to weaknesses (that are appropriate) to mention for this essay, definitely check out pymetrics.
pymetrics is a neuroscience game-based assessment test that reveals your top traits and areas for improvement. Because of its game format, it eliminates the inherent bias present in other assessment tests.
