Hi!

I am planning to apply to B-School programs R1 this fall and have concerns around my application

In my prior job, I worked on some projects that my official supervisor was not aware about as these projects were covered under mandates by a different supervisor. I am concerned whether I can report them given the ad-hoc supervisor is writing my recommendations.

My worry is about agencies (Kroll/Re Vera) connecting with the official supervisor on-record to verify these who would have no clue.

Thanks for your help :)

Typically in situations as with job background checks if something comes up a little wonky they will reach out to you or ask for better information. If they accepted you they want you there so they will usually not jump to an immediate negative conclusion unless it is something egregious which this is not

I work at a small company overseas, I am afraid that they cannot verify the company. However the phone and emails that I provide can be contacted. Do they verify the company first? Or they just contact the contacts the I provide? Is it by phone or email?

What difference does this make? They will verify your company one way or another. You are not the first person to come from a smaller company overseas.

Also, this is not something you have to worry about if everything is accurate. Let the process work itself out. If there's an issue, you will be contacted and you can solve it then. If you are really nervous for some reason, you should just contact the school to which you are accepted to straighten things out. That might look suspicious (as it's unnecessary) but that's up to you.

I'm with Admissionado on this one.

As long as you've been honest in your application about the nature of the company and your role, there's nothing you need to act one. (Even an unverifiable truth is still the truth).

If your application essays and recommendations are deep, multi dimensional and engaging, then the trust factor will increase. And by extension verification mindset becomes less skeptical. Not sure if you've drafted your essays, but that's the key to overcoming the small international company problem.

Best of luck
