GPA / rating self-reporting in application

Question

Hi all,

1) My undergrad university doesn't calculate any averages of my grades earned. In my transcript, however, all of my grades are shown
My grades are very good (95/100), should I calculate the average myself to fill in the education section?

2) My school doesn't provide official ratings, I knew I graduated top-1 in class. Should I include this as well? (This seems a bit less straightforward to me)

Hi eka27 Yes, you should calculate yourself and convert to usual GPA scale of intended university. I assume you are applying to US universities, from non US bachelor background, so you should use usually 4.0 GPA scale to convert, or alternatively letter grade scale. But you can check with universities on your application list, what scale they use, again for US that is usually 4.0 scale. Some use 4.5 scale, pay attention to that, but my bet is that for vast majority, it will still be 4.0 scale. Of course you should include that info about being top in the class, you know your grades, you know grades of your class mates, at least you know how many of them were below you

, so you should include that also, but be sure to mention that this is self reported only, not reported by school. You also know how many of them were in cohort, so you should not have problem to determine that you were in top 5% or top 1% for instance, as you already mention.
