Hello GMAT members!
I am an Indian male, I am 30 years old, a graduate in commerce, I have 6 years of managerial level experience in a public sector bank in India and a score of 690 in Gmat. I have applied to 3 business schools in Canada for an MBA and faced rejection in 2 already, I am sure of being rejected in the third one also. The thing is I have a low CGPA in graduation a percentage of 51 and the same thing has been quoted by the adcom in my rejection letter. I am really disheartened right now and not sure of my future actions. I am looking forward to some suggestions, some guidance on which school to apply, which locations to apply to.

Hi deveshj21,

I am sorry to hear about your recent rejections. While rejection can be discouraging, do not give up! Personal MBA Coach successfully guides reapplicants every year by focusing on their growth and goals.

What Canadian schools did you apply to? Personal MBA Coach offers ding analysis services where we will review your entire application and tell you what went wrong. I would have to know a bit more about your profile, but you will likely want to secure a higher GMAT to offset your low CGPA.

Another weak point may be your personal story. The most successful candidates craft unique and compelling stories. This is a large component of Personal MBA Coach’s support and the area where we find our clients need the most guidance. Take a look at our comprehensive services to learn more about story development and other key areas that we target to help clients successfully navigate the application process.

Happy to discuss your situation in further detail and how we can help set you up for success the next time around: [email protected]

Regards,
Personal MBA Coach

Hi Devesh, I'd advise you to have a chat with a consultant as they can look at your applications in more details and support future applications if needed (the 3rd school may offer you a place).

Hi deveshj21,

First things first, do not be disheartened; rejects are part of the process and we need to keep doing our bit.

While we do not have the details of the schools you applied to, one way to offset a low GPA is by bagging a higher GMAT score (it adds the spike factor to your application). Needless to say, one also needs to work on the other components of the application to build a very compelling case; you must definitely seek an opinion from a consultant or someone more experienced in this field in case you are looking at re-applying.

All the best!
