Hello members of gmatclub,
I am Devesh Joshi, I am 30 years old, I have a 6 years of Work ex in a public sector bank in India, I am a Bachelor of commerce with a below average CGPA (51 on a scale of 100). I want to pursue MBA as I feel really stagnated in my current profile,I want to be more educated,I want to broaden my horizon, also whenever I try to switch MBA is listed as an essential requirement(really not sure on the Post MBA career Path), that is why I appeared for the GMAT and, with lots of patience and hard work, was able to score 690 last November. I applied to 3 Canadian colleges, two of them have rejected me stating "poor academic background", while I am sure the third one will do the same, I have tried free consultancy sessions with many admission consultancies and although I am convinced that they would be of great help, unfortunately my current state of finances leaves me with no choice but to go solo on this agonizing journey(hence this long post) add to this my dumbness, stupidity, and lack of exposure. I am looking for a person who can help me understand the application process; how to write quality admission essays and if possible review my essays; what to mention in my CV; and help me understand realistic career goals post MBA, considering my back ground.
Hoping to hear something positive
Devesh Joshi
Everyone goes through the same dilemma....
And feels stupid while going through this journey...
Btw fun fact those who choose to go solo feel stupid that they did it wrong , should have gone via consultant....and
Those who chooseto go with consultant, feel like man its something that i could have done by myself...why do i have to be so afraid and stupid ...
In anycase whichever way you go u will always have that regret....
Now coming up to application process- that you will be going through-
1) Use all the resources available like gmat club, clear admit , poets and quants , egmat , ameer khatri webpage for mba essay analysis
2) your story you know better, get it straight and in such a way that you can narrate it easily and are able to convince that what you have written in essay is what you are...stick to it
3) interview prep .....lots of videos are available on youtube watch those
4) acads low- even i have that , but if u can give reason why they are low and justify those with instances that happened few years back well n good...if unable to do so...own the poor acads and say that you have improved on those have tried to compensate for it via gmat score 690 is decent...try and take one more chance and achieve 710 atleast..will go a long way
Essays and LOR questions make list and create word files for each college and write down your first draft...use grammarly for review and send it to your collegues and aks them their honest feedback...

All the best in the end and i hope this will be useful to u in some way 👍🔥
