Question i received via subscription form....... How to start shortlisting my target schools
For shortlisting we would recommend having 5-8 schools spread between: Reach, Target and Safe.
The biggest key to this is making sure the schools align with your career outcomes (check https://www.aringo.com/mba-specializations/).
Then you want to compare your profile to their average class profile - this is a very initial way to start categorizing schools, but helpful in selection.
Next - talk to someone - admissions teams at the schools, students, alumni or even admission consultants to see if they are a good fit for you.

honestly, not enough information, but all MBA’s (and Ivy’s) are looking for 4-6 years of experience so you are spot on for Fall 2022 applications.

Hi Venkat - CA is highly recognized so that is great. Unfortunately the GMAT does play a role and isn’t the best positioned for Top 30 programs.... but some schools are waiving GMAT/GRE - Ross announced for Fall 2022 already! So my advice would be to either retake GMAT or consider GRE and/or wait to see which schools offer waivers this fall.

This is a common question - Depending on where you want to do your MBA - US or EU, 1 year programs may be a better target. Much of this will depend on your motivations for a 2nd MBA.
Here is a list of schools that allow candidates to apply with a previous MBA https://www.aringo.com/can-you-apply-for-a-second-mba/

Is it safe to assume you worked 2+ years to gain your CA? prior to working full-time at the bank? if so, then it will count as 4 years of work experience. The bigger question around this will be have you had enough exposure to contribute to classroom discussions and be an asset to your cohort.

in that case no, then it would be counted as an internship. sorry for the confusion. Most top programs are looking for 3 years of work experience at time of application with upward mobility (had promotions or promotion ready)

there is no straightforward answer to this unfortunately.

two scenarios: articleship before bachelors, articleship post bachelors
1. before bachelors - not considered.
2. if your articleship was post your bachelors, it might be considered by some schools. few schools outrightly discount articleship (for example, ISB), few don’t. best way to find out is to reach out to the admissions team at the school.

hope that makes sense.
