Hello,
I wanted to have feedbacks from people who have applied to MBAs before, or helped people do so.
I am planning to apply to MBAs by September.
I have the GMAT and the TOEFL, but what I now need are transcripts from my previous schools.
I hole 2 Masters:
- One in France (Engineering)
- One in Canada (Engineering)
It is quite easy for me to get transcripts from the Canadian University, so I'm not worried about it.
However regarding the French transcript, things are more complex:
- In France transcripts are not a thing, and I only have my diploma as a proof of attending University
- I tried messaging / calling the university but they seem to be off this Summer. Even if they do reply, there are risks they may not be able to find my transcripts from 8 years ago (it might take months, and make me miss application deadlines)
- To make things more complex, my canadian GPA is great (3.8/4.0), but my French Grades are representative of the French system, where competitive students are students who pass classes without failing. Like I do not have a GPA, because French system does not work that way, and the grades are not on the same scale as US / Canadian Grades.
I see that American MBAs want applicants to provide all the classes they took, and even submit WES equivalents.
I am thinking of how to overcome this problem, given the limited amount of time I have (about 2 months), I am not so optimistic about getting French transcripts in time, or even at all. What options do you think are recommended?
- Write letter to MBA commitees explaining my situation?
- Get in contact with MBA admission comittees to get ad-hoc advice?
- I'm even thinking of not mentionning my French Engineering Degree to gain time (!)
