Submitted application but banned GMAT?

Question

Has anyone ever experience being banned from GMAT after submitting school application?

I received an email that my test is undergoing a routine security review. And the decision will probably be available after the school submission deadline.

I did a GMAT focus online test because there was no date available for the test center one before deadline.

Right now I’m overthinking everything and having a massive insecurity that the empty class room I used for my test does not pass the room qualification.

I have a plan to retake the test on the nearest available date at the test center. But what if it turns out I get banned? My first score is not even that good (below 600) to be suspicious.

I’m scared of getting banned from GMAT and not being able to retake the next text.

I don’t think my behavior is suspicious. I kept my eyes on the screen or on the whiteboard when I need to. I didn’t move away from my seat nor the screen during a break (just drank my water that’s on my table, stretched and meditated a bit)

I’ve just realized that there might be a projector that hasn’t been plugged off. It’s on the ceiling and the connected to somewhere that I don’t know. I plugged off every other electronics though.
 
What will happen to my application in case my GMAT gets banned?

Hi  KarmaTheCat ,

I'm so sorry to hear about your situation. There have been cases where folks have been banned after breaking rules, but that does not seem to be the case for you. Please follow up with GMAC and hold off on arriving at any conclusions unless you have explicit confirmation from them.

While I'm sincerely hoping you won't have to resort to this, it might be worth keeping your options open with alternatives to the GMAT. Do your target schools accept the GRE as well? Don't lose hope yet though, it's likely nothing.

Please keep this thread updated. There are experts here who have an open channel with GMAC and might be able to offer better advise. I will be sure to push this post to the right audiences once you have word from GMAC.

Hello!

After days of overthinking, I remember there was a problem with my examikey on the test. I did it wrong three times.

My first name has two words. But on my examikey I only put one. I rechecked my profile before test to make sure and didn’t change it because I thought changing it 24 hours before the test will create a problem.

During the verification, I tried with the one I saw in my profile. But it was an error. The proctor told me to try different combinations of my name. None of them was right. I really have no idea why.

I send an email to GMAC asking if I can book another test when my first was still under review. They say I can only book it after the review is done.

I know it’s a maximum of 20 business days. But is there any possibility that it will be quicker?

And yes, I’m thinking of taking the GRE if i get banned. I will need time to study.

Ah, that's a sticky situation.

I would recommend writing to the AdComs of the schools you're applying to and explaining the situation, along with your original score report (if available). Many schools offer to accept the application as is and offer extended time to share your test scores alone. Hope things work out. All the best!!
