You know, I just can't motivation anymore to really try at work.
"Rhyme, I need you to look at this document and then look at this one, and see if there are things that don't add up."
"OK"
Rhyme opens document A.
"A swaption put on the CBX exchange should be listed using mark to market accounting methods unless the appropriate expense into the GL ...."
Rhyme opens document B.
"The file will contain S.,293.283.MD8 and 9.81N2.8932 in a XML BLOB AJAX WSDL whatever"
"Hey bob, what the heck is document B? I don't understand a thing."
"Thats supposed to be a list of the requirements."
"You mean like, policies?"
"No, thats supposed to describe how things work for the business"
"I don't think it does Bob. That might document A."
"How do you mean?"
"It's full of technical jargon, I can't understand a page of it."
"Well, its supposed to be done by next week."
"Bob, its crap. Who wrote this thing?"
"(BIG NAME CONSULTING FIRM)"
"Hmm.. OK, so what do you want to do?"
"Well, its supposed to be done. Can you just uhm, like do your best?"
"Bob, I'm not a programmer. I don't understand a word in this document. Seriously. I have no idea what any of this means."
"OK, well the thing is it's supposed to be done..."
"Gotta go Bob..."
That was last week. I haven't opened the files since.
I have no motivation anymore.

HAHAHA. You are certainly in an enviable position: a Chicago admit in your pocket. You might as well spend the rest of your pre MBA time working on your tan.

Sounds like a day in my job. I love the "just get it done" response.
Like, "We actually can't process this request because we don't have the data we need." "Look, you're going to have to get it done!"
