Hello experts
Recently I took my GMAT FOCUS and got myself a score of 635(Q88 V79 DI77). I have overall 5 years of working experience in top MNC's and product based company as Software Quality Specialist. Considering extra curriculars, I have a couple of 'em worth mentioning in the applications. I am wondering what are my chances of the top Bschools in India( ISB, IIM's, XLRI etc.) offering executive MBA programs ?
Hi Anish! Being an IIM Bangalore alumni, I can say that your experience is perfect for IIMs and ISB. If you can, then try scoring in the range of 670-680 - the sole reason being that you belong to an overrepresented pool of Software engineers, so a high score will certainly give you an edge. However if you have stellar acads, then even at this score you can make the cut.
Once you through with the above point, it will all boil down to how well you articulate your experiences in application essays (which help you stand out in this pool of software engineers) and then how well you structure your answers in interviews. We did a ding analysis for few ISB and IIM applicants and the one of the most common issue was not being to articulate well the "Why MBA" and "Why ISB/IIM" questions.
In case you want to have a detailed discussion around ISB, IIMs, XLRI etc., then please reach out to us at hello
