Business school really registered on my radar just 6 months ago, even though I had finished with the GMAT in January. For the longest time I wanted to go to law school, but a few years in the legal industry made me realize why that would have been a stupendously stupid decision.

I set out looking to apply for Fall 2010, but a walk through New York's Bryant Park in the summer led to a major "epiphany" and I decided to go all in this year. Don't ask.

Hopefully the gamble will pay off.

Nice...I enjoy hearing everyone's stories of how they have reached this point :)

Personally, I've had my sights on b-school since I graduated college and began my career in software engineering (4 years ago). It didn't take long to realize I didn't want to spend my life in engineering and for reasons I don't specifically recall, going for an MBA sounded like a good idea. I read through Montauk and MBA Game Plan and never looked back :)

It's crazy how 2008 seemed so far away...here's to setting goals and sticking to em!! :-D

I didn't even think about an MBA before end August 2007. I still remember how I took my decision - a friend told me over lunch that he had been accepted for an LLM in the US and told me that I should think about an MBA; I can still remember me thinking: "Hey, that's actually not a bad idea" :-D

So from September 2007 till December 2007 I selected a couple of schools, gathered a lot of info, contacted alumni, went to a couple of meetings, took the TOEFL (October 2007), the GMAT (December 2007) and wrote the essays (I started in December). So basically I reoriented my life in 4 months. It's funny when I think about it: if I didn't have lunch with that friend I would have never thought about doing an MBA (I'm 30 now, making me and old applicant). I guess it's true when they say that it's all about seizing opportunities in life...

I was thinking of going to b-school this time last year, but didn't really buckle down and start the process until last Feb or so.

Before I graduated from college, I knew that I would eventually seek an MBA.
