Volunteers needed (no physical work required) :)

Question

Looking for volunteers to help read and quickly edit the document Im planning to provide recommenders (preferably those who are already admitted and just killing time before starting school). It's about 11 pages long, but 2 of those pages are just Appendices with tips for recommenders pulled off the Web. What I'd like advice on is ... well, almost everything

. This is a first cut, and I'd like to think I've put enough detail in there, especially around my goals. So if you'd like to help out, please reply here, or drop me a PM. And to those of you admitted and wasting time, why not help out ? :-D

Agreed. A one-page outline is the max of what I would prepare. I just sent an email with ~10 bullet points.

Ah, I guess I should be more specific. Its not just a guideline on how to do recommendations, rather, its a complete document giving them the background of why I want an MBA, why now, what my goals are, where I am applying, why those schools, and some background on my volunteer activities and whatnot.

My goal is to arm them with as much information as possible so that they know what Im after, and can address that in their recommendations

Thanks, Praet. Yes, I did use her's as a reference, and incorporated her materials into mine. What she doesn't have in her letter that I do is my background and motivations, goals, etc. It was definitely a good starting point though.

I feel like I owe my recommenders the info that's in there. I want them to know why I want an MBA, what I plan to do with it, etc.

Make sure this doesn't scare off your recommenders. I'd still suggest you do an executive summary of all the info in there to a 1 page doc. Additionally, you could also do a one on one chat with them and talk at length about your goals etc before you hand off this doc.

This thread is done. Your post is the kind of non sense that we try to avoid - what if every single member posted a request like yours? No one on here is your personal *complain*. You want help - be reasonable. Contact people over private message first. If you don't know what to do, send me a message, but I would rather you use common sense.
