I know that Linkedin is popularly used at b-schools. I'm in between my first and second year at Yale SOM and I tried to use Linkedin to connect with people. I tried to add some 2nd years who I had a very brief conversation with and my connection requests went ignored. I also tried to connect with some people who I had never spoken to, but since we're all in the same program, I thought it was fine as I noticed others doing the same. These all went ignored, but I noticed that they connected with random people (non-Yale SOM) who added everyone and other similar people. Do you reject requests on Linkedin if you don't know them even though you go to the same program?

Everyone reacts to linkedin differently. I like to connect with people I know already but I am liberal if its the same program. Best to reach out first before connecting perhaps

I agree; everyone behaves differently on LinkedIn. But I personally think it is always better to meet in person prior to connecting on LinkedIn, otherwise you don't have much basis for utilizing that connection in the future.
