Since my wife and child are staying with me, I need at least a 2 bedroom apartment. In order to save rent expenses and to get a better quality housing, I am thinking about renting an apartment about 30~40 minutes away from the campus. So the total commute time would be 1 hr ~ 1 hr 20 min assuming that I don't have to come back home during the day and go to campus again in the evening for social events and group study/work.
Of course, living next to the campus is ideal, but would the commute hinder my MBA experience in a significant way? How busy would one actually be during the program? Do students mostly stay on campus all the long or is there a huge time gap between evening events and day classes and studies?
I am thinking long and hard about this since as much as it is important for me to save money, I do not want it to significantly affect what I can get out of my MBA experience as it is a very important 2-year investment of my time and money for my future job.
Any insights on this would be appreciated!
