Hey Hari1992:
I will be honest with you here – I do not really have an answer for you. The explanation for this is relatively simple, have not really given me any substantial information about the nature of your leadership and management at your place of work. The information you provided me so high level, it would be irresponsible for me to make some sort of recommendation or assessment that you could hang your hat on. So while jobs with the Indian government are very selective, 1% still represents a lot of potential employees and applicants to business school. It does not necessarily make you stand out because it is an aggregate statistic. They do not want to know about the dog in the fight, they want to know about the fight in the dog – that dog of course being you. They are more interested in you. They are more interested in what makes you tick. They are more interested in what you have accomplished. Statistics do not matter anymore , my friend, when it comes to the very top business schools in United States.
Now will your work experience – or any work experience for that matter – be good enough for some school in the United States? Looking into my magic 8 ball – the answer is probably "yes". there so many business schools out there in the US, and most assuredly, there will be one that will accept whatever it is you have to throw them.
Respectfully,
Paul Lanzillotti

hello,
I am Indian female my GMAT score is 710(retaking it) and my GPA by WES evaluation is 3.85/4.0.I have 1 year work experience in IT start up and 2 years as asst manager in Indian government bank, my work in bank includes supervision of 5 clerks, cash management in branch, credit analyst, loan processing. While coming to selectivity of my job every year government of India selects only 1% of the applied graduates for this job. My question is whether this work experience is good in terms of us b schools?
thanks & regards.
