Isn't there a separate ranking for consulting or finance on the USNews rankings?

If you're geared for MC, pretty much any of the top 10 b-schools in US can take you there; it simply depends on how you spend your time at the school. Outside of top 10, you're looking at a harder figure to get in MC, but chances are still quite good. Basically, all top MC companies recruit at top 10 schools. Whether the institution is finance-heavy or not (such as your examples, wharton and booth) is irrelevant when it comes to MC recruiting at the top schools.

HBS mints consultants. As far as top level executives that really varies - there used to be a strong trend of HBS C-level executives at Fortune 500 companies. That has since diminished a bit. I have also seen a number of consultants come from Tuck and Fuqua.
