Can anyone review my profile and let me know if i stand a chance in any of the B school that i am targeting for 2012.
GMAT score (gave on 10th Aug 2011):
Overall: 730
Quant: 51
Verbal: 38
AWA: Awaiting score
Origin: Indian
Work Exp: 3 years (till now)
Industry: Investment Banking
Position: Senior Analyst
EducationUndergrad degree: Computer engineering from Delhi College of engineering with 71% (above average score with highest percentage around 80%)
School: 85% in 10th standard and 83% in 12th standard in CBSE borad
Other courses done: CFA (US) Level 2 cleared and will be appearing for Level 3 in June 2012.
Extra curricular activities: Playing tennis and trying out new adventure sports (no awards won iin these as i do all these for fun an not from the point of competing)
Negative points: Average percentages in high school and college, no international experience
Positive points: Best rated analyst this year among all senior analysts, cleared CFA level 2, engineering degree from one of the top 10 colleges in India
Reason to do MBA and B Schools i am targeting: I want to do MBA from a good B school for finance that can help me in my career progression. I am not looking for a career change at all and want to stay in finance after my MBA. What i am looking for is to get into a private equity firm / hedge fund / leading investment bank which can give me international exposure after my MBA.
I am targeting Stern, Chicago Booth, Columbia, Wharton, HKUST.
Please let me know if do stand a chance in any of these schools and also if i missed any of the good schools for finance that i should be applying at.
