JohnIsUsername very optimistic, I'm willing to bet money that you can get into at least one of these schools. It was exciting to read this because I don't honestly think I've ever read a profile from a media researcher. I was the marketing research manager in the promotions arm a chain of newspapers as my first position out of my MBA, so I understand quite well what you do. I would be interested in knowing the level of discretion and leadership that you have in your current job, if you have compelling work anecdotes, as opposed to just doing standard media-buying with an optimizer or something. Great GPA, GRE, Cal is obvs great, community leadership an interesting outside interests. Diverse work experience and you have a very natural way to connect the dots between political career and marketing career. You just need to get a little bit clearer on your goals with regards to the marketing, however obviously I think that it should have some type of strategic component so you can demonstrate value to the next employer. Go for it!
