Hi all
I never usually post publically however extensive efforts to research have come up rather short. I am a U.K. corporate (general M&A/capital markets/VC) lawyer at a high calibre US law firm in
London with 6 years experience. I did an economics and law degree at Cambridge University. I have wanted to leave the law for as long as I remember and have finally come to my breaking point! I am looking at 1year MBAs in the US (Emory, Cox, Florida) as I can’t afford a two year course. I have read a lot about one year courses only being suitable for acceleration rather than change. I suppose I want to try to understand if on that basis such an endeavour would be a waste of time for me. I can’t say I know exactly what I wish to do after, but I could see obvious cross over in corporate strategy, corporate finance, venture capital. I work regularly with company boards and a major driver for me is to switch sides from service sector to business (not as a GC!)
Any thoughts would be hugely appreciated (whether on schools, roles or otherwise!) as there is very little info out there for me to refer to. Insead seems to be an option but I quite fancy going to the US!
Many thanks
Em
