Hi All,
First post here. I'm getting ready for the GMAT and wanted to get some input on whether I should apply for FT or PT. I'm 26, live in Los angeles and my target schools will be Anderson, Marshall, Haas and Foster. My practice GMAT was a 710 but I'm studying for the next three months and am scheduled to take the real test in April- Fingers crossed I can duplicate or increase my score.
I currently work in biotech(business function) and my employer is willing to sponsor my MBA 100%. The kicker is I would really like to try switching industries into finance or something of that nature. Long story short I'm sick of my career and want out.
Current income is about 140K after bonuses, so I figure after tuition and housing my opportunity cost will be about 300-350K when it is said and done, plus tuition itself.
Has anyone had success switching careers from a PT program? I really want to try FT but there is a lot of risk with this decision. For the record, I'm okay with a lower income after graduation if it means I'm happier.
