B is wrong, it compares the flavor of the ballads to ‘other country singers…

C uses ‘those’ incorrectly, implying that the songs of the other singers have multiple flavors.

D compares the flavor of the ballads to the other singers songs.

E does the same.

A is the only one that properly compares the flavor of Gillian Welch’s ballads to the flavor of other singers’ songs

In A Why are we assuming that multiple songs have single flavour???

Whenever this type of question appears,( that of or those of type), focus on the word before OF of both parts and compare them . Both should either be singular or be plural.
