The answer is E.

The option should have- diversity with a verb for singular ie makes.

Traditional methods of salmon farming have led to homogeneity rather than the diversity that make a species more capable to survive myriad natural challenges, including predators and disease.

POE:
WAY1-
'x rather than y' is the right structure. Eliminate (A), (C), (D) & (E).
OR
WAY2-
Eliminate (A) & (C)- the singular subject 'diversity' needs a singular verb 'makes'
Eliminate (E) - 'capable of' is the right idiom.
Eliminate (D) - 'which' is ambiguous.

A) rather than the diversity that make a species more capable to survive

B) rather than to the diversity that makes a species more capable of surviving - CORRECT

C) rather than the diversity that make a species more capable in surviving

D) rather than for the diversity which makes a species more capable of surviving

E) rather than the diversity making a species more capable to survive

Since the clause preceding the underlined portion describes the result using ''to'', the underlined portion must also use ''to'' to indicate the 'expected result' (That was not achieved). Since (A), (C), (D), and (E) do not have use ''to'' in the described format, we can eliminate (A), (C), (D), and (E). This leaves us with only (B)

B) rather than to the diversity that makes a species more capable of surviving - (B) does not have any error whatsoever.
Therefore, (B) is the right answer choice.
