Cambodia remains being a largely underdeveloped country because virtually all educated citizens were slaughtered during the regime of Pol Pot.

(A) remains being

(B) is still remaining

(C) is being

(D) remains

(E) remains still

Source: Master GMAT

Hello guys!

Using POE,

Eliminate Option A, it is redundant, remains and being, these words almost mean the same thing.

Eliminate Option B, same as A. Unrequired use of the continuous tense.

Eliminate Option C, being= existence. Incorrect

Eliminate Option E, redundant again. Same as A.

Option D is perfect. No redundancy error.

Answer:- Option D

Thank you!

Regards,
Raunak Damle
