Companies have been builds - Is wrong as there is no subject for the verb builds. Companies(S) Have..(Verb)
B. will build a lot recently as doing so
Companies have been -Denotes present continues tense.
Use of will is wrong for two reasons:
a)Subject missing for the verb will
b)Denotes future tense we are talking about present.
C. building a lot recently as to do so
Use of building removes the subject verb error but the the use of to do so is clumsy and can be simply replaced by doing so
D. building a lot recently as it
Use of building removes the subject verb error but use of pronoun it is dangling, as there is no subject antecedent for the same(cannot refer to any subject present in the sentence) also use of it seems wrong here because we are trying to define the importance of an action rather than a Noun. Hence wrong.
E. building a lot in recent times as doing so
Removes all the errors though it could have been better if in place of - in recent times the sentence would have used recently.
