My answer is (E). It took me 01:30.
When the whole sentence is underlined, just go directly to read option (A). It is more comfortable to read a sentence without extraneous marks.
(A) I do not see major issues immediately, although the construct of "few than six are ones" sounds a bit strange and definitely rather rigid. Keep for now.
(B) "The selection committee" is singular. The last word ("them") should be "it".
(C) "less than" should be "few than". The last word ("them") should be "it".
(D) "less than" should be "few than".
Besides, the use of "when" is inappropriate. It depicts a rather peculiar scenario that the selection committee wait until it collects resumes from one hundred applications. Then, it will interview fewer than six of them as if it won't interview more even if the 100 applicants turn out to be top candidates.
(E) I like this version because it flows smoothly. I only notice that it uses passive voice later, but passive voice is well justified here since the focus is on "fewer than six".
