Here the split is between singular versus plural verb.
Of course it is singular because it points to elevation
b and c are really weird as sentence and in their construction. Clearly A
However, I am not sure on the GMAT or in general when we talk about stress and hormones that increase the right term elevation of levels of stress hormones
Do not sound familiar as construction.
