IMO B

All actors are exuberant people and all exuberant people are extroverts, but nevertheless it is true that some shy people are actors.
If the statements above are true, each of the following must also be true EXCEPT:
(A) Some shy people are extroverts --> shy people-->actor-->exuberant-->extrovert -->true
(B) Some shy extroverts are not actors --> the best: there are some shy people that are actors-->some shy extrovert are actors. But no info about the opposite idea
(C) Some exuberant people who are actors are shy -->some shy people are actors and all actors are exuberant -->true
(D) All people who are not extroverts are not actors -->all actors are extrovert -->true
(E) Some extroverts are shy -->Some extrovert are actors and some actors are shy -->true

Hi chetan2u,

Can you help me with this question. OA is B but I picked D. Also, will GMAT test us on these type of questions?

As many people have already applied the correct approach here by using Venn-diagram for this solution, we can therefore see that Option B may or may not be true, depending on the size of the sample.

(A) Some shy people are extroverts.
Since some actors are shy and these actors are extrovert this can be a possibility - Hence out

(B) Some shy extroverts are not actors.
This may not be a possibility depending on the sample size -Hence in

(C) Some exuberant people who are actors are shy.
This can be a possiblity since there are some shy people as from the argument -Hence out

(D) All people who are not extroverts are not actors.
Yes this is a possiblity from the argument - Hence out

(E) Some extroverts are shy.
Yes this too is a possibility -Hence out
Therefore IMO B
