+1 for B.

Conclusion :
It is the color of a car that influences the driver’s behavior, and hence receive more speeding tickets from the police.

(B) Red cars do not attract more attention from the police than do cars of other colors --> Correct, negate the statement, it says its not the driver’s behavior that may lead to receiving more speeding tickets, but its the attention that car gets from police.

Hence, B.

Studies have long shown that people who drive red cars receive more speeding tickets from the police than do those who drive cars of other colors. Researchers have thus concluded that the color of a car influences its driver’s behavior.

The researchers’ conclusion depends upon which of the following assumptions?
Prethinking:
1. The correct choice will attack the gap between driver's behavior and speeding tickets
2. There is no other reason except driver’s behavior that red cars are getting more speeding tickets

(A) Drivers of black cars receive the second-most speeding tickets. Irrelevant
(B) Red cars do not attract more attention from the police than do cars of other colors. Logic 2 of prethinking
(C) Police officers do not drive red cars. ( L.O.L. They will also get ticket)- Out of scope
(D) Red cars do not receive any more parking tickets, on average, than do cars of other colors. Irrelevant
(E) Drivers of red cars who are ticketed for speeding are able to appeal their tickets more often than drivers of other color cars. Irrelevant

Type - assumption
Boil it down - the color of a car influences its driver’s behavior

(A) Drivers of black cars receive the second-most speeding tickets. - Irrelevant
(B) Red cars do not attract more attention from the police than do cars of other colors. - Correct - On negating this statement, the argument falls apart
(C) Police officers do not drive red cars. - Irrelevant
(D) Red cars do not receive any more parking tickets, on average, than do cars of other colors. - Incorrect
(E) Drivers of red cars who are ticketed for speeding are able to appeal their tickets more often than drivers of other color cars. - Irrelevant - how often the red car drivers appeal their tickets is irrelevant

Drivers who are likely to overspeed are no more likely to buy Red cars. -- Is this also a valid assumption?

Sounds good to me. If a certain type of driver is more likely to purchase red, then it is not the color that is responsible for what that driver does.
