please explain why not B and why A????

Broadcast having international programs weakens the argument since broadcasters do not have the means to pay for all the fancy extras that cable does such as international shows, 24 hr sports, news, etc.

(A) Some broadcast networks can be viewed in several countries. (Not mentioned in the argument, just the Cable TV has this access, not the Broadcast Networks) CORRECT

(B) Broadcast networks do not rely on subscriber fees from viewers. True, implied from the argument, an advantage that only Cable TV has.

(C) Low costs are often an important factor for advertisers in selecting a station or network on which to run a TV ad. (Yes, true since advertisers prefer Cable TV and not the Broadcast networks)

(D) Some advertisers prefer to have the opportunity to address a worldwide audience. This can be achieved only through the Cable TV service.

(E) The audiences that some advertisers prefer to target watch 24-hour news stations.
Again, Cable TV offers this opportunity

Here is my understanding of the argument:

Cable TV stations have advantages that enable them to attract many more advertisers than broadcast networks attract. For example, cable stations are able to target particular audiences with 24-hour news, sports, or movies,
whereas broadcast networks must offer a variety of programming. Cable can also offer lower advertising rates than any broadcast network can, because it is subsidized by viewers through subscriber fees. Additionally, many cable stations have expanded worldwide with multinational programming.

The statements above, if true, provide support for each of the following EXCEPT:

(A) Some broadcast networks can be viewed in several countries.
(B) Broadcast networks do not rely on subscriber fees from viewers.
(C) Low costs are often an important factor for advertisers in selecting a station or network on which to run a TV ad.
(D) Some advertisers prefer to have the opportunity to address a worldwide audience.
(E) The audiences that some advertisers prefer to target watch 24-hour news stations.

First we need to focus on the questions stem, it is asking what all options are supported EXCEPT, so we need to check what cannot be inferred from the argument or what is not mentioned in the argument.

(A) Some broadcast networks can be viewed in several countries.
We know that Cable TV Stations have expanded worldwide (mentioned in the argument), but the same is not mentioned in the argument . KEEP IT.

(B) Broadcast networks do not rely on subscriber fees from viewers.
This is what is mentioned in the argument - "Cable can also offer lower advertising rates than any broadcast network can, because it is subsidized by viewers through subscriber fees".

(C) Low costs are often an important factor for advertisers in selecting a station or network on which to run a TV ad.
This is somewhat a universal fact and can also be interpreted from the argument.

(D) Some advertisers prefer to have the opportunity to address a worldwide audience.
Ask this to yourself - Will it be a problem or will the advertisers not like if they have a worldwide audiences? Also, since it is mentioned in the argument that CTS have expanded worldwide, this option supports.

(E) The audiences that some advertisers prefer to target watch 24-hour news stations.
This is mentioned in the argument about CTS 24 hours News

So, the only option that we are left with is option A.

Hope this helps
