Sam: Most hunters carry knives, no animal rights activists are hunters, and only hunters have an Alberta hunting license. Therefore, Jim is not a hunter.

Which of the following, if true, most strengthens Sam’s argument?

a) Jim does not carry a knife

b) Jim strongly supports animal rights

c) Jim does not have an Alberta hunting license

d) Jim is an animal rights activist

e) Jim doesn’t like to hunt

I)
Sufficient Condition :- Hunter
Necessary condition :- Not an activist
Hunter -> Not an activist
Contrapositive :- Activist -> Not a Hunter

II)
Sufficient Condition :- License
Necessary condition :- Hunter
License -> Hunter
Contrapositive :- Not a hunter -> No license

Final diagram :- License -> Hunter -> Not an activist
Contrapositive :- Activist -> Not a hunter -> No license

Conclusion -
Jim is not a hunter

Case I Contrapositive :-
He will not be a hunter only if he is an activist as per the diagram above. And because he is not a hunter he will not have a license.

option C says No License -> No hunter - this is Incorrect as it is not a contrapositive but confuses Sufficient condition for a necessary condition.

Answer - D
