In order to account for the difference between the time taken for one revolution of the earth around the sun and a year of 365 days, an extra day is added once in four years called a leap year. However, this extra day is not added when the year happens to be a century year (i.e.) a year ending in hundreds. A day is added only once in four such century years.

Which of the following can be concluded from the above phenomenon of calculation of days in a year?
 
A. The earth takes slightly less than 365 days and 6 hours to go round the sun once.

B. The earth takes slightly more than 364 days and 6 hours to go sound the sun once.

C. The earth takes slightly more than 365 days and 6 hours to go sound the sun once.

D. The time taken by the earth to go round the sun once varies from year to year.

If we add 1 day every four years, means that year has 366 days. (that means earth takes 365 days and 6 hours to rotate around sun once)
Now, to balance/correct calculation if we are adding a day every fourth century (that year will have 367 days) means definitely an year on avg should be greater than 365 days and 6 hours)

Only option C fits that. Option A clearly is opposite and option B includes option A, in probability/in part at least.
D and E are irrelevent.

Oh, by the way, this is what is pre thinking. Clear analysis of a question lead to conclude something and question is asking for conclusion.
Don't force yourself into prethinking, its not some different process. Pre-Thinking is the answer you got in your head after your analysis of question before looking answer choices.

OFFICIAL EXPLANATION

The fact that 1 day is added to a year once in four years shows that it takes 365 1/4 days (i.e.,) 365 days and 6 hours for the earth to go round the sun. However, as the same day is not added in the century years in which also one day should be added, going by the above logic the time taken by the earth to go around the sun must be slightly less than 365 days and 6 hours.

Hence answer (A) is the correct Choice.
