ca anybody help me why b is correct?

there is nothing mentioned about creativity and alll.

The argument is the group with no cash prize wrote stories which on average were better than the other group

(A) The cash prizes were too small to motivate an average adult to make a significant effort to produce stories of high quality. - Option A was a good contender but the average adults gave it away, how do we know that group consisted of average adults?

(B) People writing to win prizes show a greater than usual tendency to produce stereotypical stories that show little creativity. - If this is true then most people in the cash-winning group restricted themselves to typical stories leading to stories that were on an average substandard to the other group

(C) Most adults show little originality in writing stories on a topic suggested by someone else. - Does not help explain why another group still fared better

(D) The team of judges was biased in favor of stories that they judged to be more realistic. - We don't know if the other group wrote stories that were close to realism

(E) No one explained clearly to either group what standards would be used in judging their stories. - This doesnot help explain why the story of non cash proze group were better

This is one of those questions where you use the process of elimination rather than choosing the best answer. I am not a fan of bee either but this is also not a typical GMAT Question…. I have issues with a B but it does explain the reason being the prize or the money. This is really the only choice that touches on that.
