(x-1)(x+3) > 0
Solution is x > 1 and x <-3

(x + 5)(x-4) < 0
Solution is -5 < x < 4

Only -4 and 2 satisfy both.

Answer is C.

I got the answer but I am not able to understand why substituting value from the option only 3 satisfy because if we put -4 we get the second equation answer as 0<0
please help
