Found this a rather simple one
Amount Excess of 600 = 1720 - 600
= 1120
Tax of 9% on 1120 , Now if we look closer we can easily eliminate A , B , C as well as E on the basis that if the tax was 10 % amount to be paid would be 112 . Since it is less than 10 % amount would be slightly lesser i.e 100.8 .
9 * 1120 / 100 = 100.80
Answer is D

Answer = D. $100.80
Taxable amount = 1720-600 = 1120
Tax \(= 1120 * \frac{9}{100} = \frac{1008}{10} = 100.8\)
Taxable amount = 1720-600 = 1120
Tax \(= 1120 * \frac{9}{100} = \frac{1008}{10} = 100.8\)
