Let the standard equation of intercept straight line is y=mx+c
Now we have given that c=-2
The Line has also passed through (2, 4) and (6, -8). So the Point will be (4,-2).
So the line must satisfy this point.
=> -2=4m-2
=> m=0

Line m passes through the midpoint of the line segment whose endpoints are (2, 4) and (6, -8)
  • Mid point of (2,4) and (6,-8) will be given by (\(\frac{2 + 6}{2}\), \(\frac{4 + (-8)}{2}\)) = (4,-2)
What is the slope of line m ?
  • Slope is given by Differnece of y-cordinates / Difference of x-cordinates
  • Line passes through two points (0,-2) and (4,-2)
  • Slope = (-2 - (-2)) / (4-0) = 0/4 = 0
  • Slope of 0 also means that the line is parallel to x axis i.e. all points on the line will have the same value of the y-cordinate (i.e. -2)
So, Answer will be D
