A spherical sphere of radius 4 cm is divided into eight equal parts by cutting it in halves along the same axis as given in the attached image. Find the surface area of each of the final piece.

1/8 th of a sphere can be imagined to have 3 different faces , two of which are semi-circles and the 3rd one to be the 1/8th of the outer surface of a sphere
So, the area of our outer surface of the sphere = 1/8 x 4 x pi x r^2 = 1/8 x 4 x pi x 4^2 = 8 x pi
Now, the area of the inner surfaces = 2 x Area of semi-circle = 2 x 1/2 x pi x r^2 = 16 x pi
Total area = 8 pi + 16 pi = 24 pi
answer : C
