Which of the following is closest to \(√0.08\)?

A. 0.03
B. 0.04
C. 0.3
D. 0.8
E. 0.9

\(√0.08\) can be written as \(4^\frac{1}{2} * 2^\frac{1}{2} * 10^\frac{-2}{2}\)
=\(2* 1.41 * 10^\frac{-1}{1}\)
= 0.2 * 1.41
= 0. 282
=~ 0.3
Answer is C .

Which of the following is closest to \(√0.08\)?

A. 0.03
B. 0.04
C. 0.3
D. 0.8
E. 0.9

We can simplify the given expression:

√0.08 = √(8/100) = √8/√100 = √8/10

√8 ≈ 2.8, so √8/10 ≈ 2.8/10 ≈ 0.3

Alternate Solution:

We can approximate √0.08 with √0.09. Testing the answer choices, we see that 0.3 is the only choice even remotely close, because 0.3^2 = 0.09.

Answer: C

This is such a brilliant solution. It might be common sense to most but I did not think about it in such a sense. This gave me a new perspective of looking at questions.
