If both v and w are odd integers, which of the following could be an even integer?

A. vw
B. v+w+1
C. v/w
D. 2 (v+w)
E. 2v+w

D is correct,

(By trial)

A:3*9=27 (odd)(odd*odd is always odd)
B:19+3+1=23(odd)
C:9/3=3(odd)

D:2(1+3)=8(even)(even * odd=even )
E:2*3+9=15(odd)

Since an even integer times any integer will always be even, we see that answer choice D will always be even. In other words, 2 times (v+w) will produce a product that is an even integer.

Answer: D

Thus the answer is D
