The price of an airline ticket to Zua Zua island on a chartered flight with 200 seats is set at $500 for the first 50 tickets sold. Once 50 tickets are sold, the price of each ticket is set at $600. What is the least number of tickets that must be sold to realize revenue of at least $30,000?

A. 50
B. 57
C. 58
D. 59
E. 60
\(30000 = 50*500 + 600t\)

Or, \(300 = 50*5 + 6t\)

Or, \(6t = 50\)

So, \(t = 8.xxx\)

Thus, total no of tickets sold must be 50 + 8.xx > 58, among the given options only (D) matches, hence answer must be (D)

Amount: Atleast 30,000
First 50 seats = 50 x 500 =>25,000
i.e., we need more than 50 seats

Remaining amount = 5,000
=>5000/600 = 8.33

So 50+8.33 = 58.33

50x500 + 8x600 = 29,800 and the question is asking atleast 30,000 & least number of tickets sold.

Hence D is only choice
