Hello,

As per the question statement, each copy of a 300-page book is missing one page.

The book has 300 pages of which 288 pages contain text and 12 pages are blank. Both of them add up to 300. Since the question asks for the probability of text page missing from any single copy, we have \(\frac{288}{300}\)

Reverse approach:

P(Missing text page) = 1 - P(Missing blank page)
\(=1-\frac{12}{300}\)
\(=1-\frac{1}{25}\)
\(=\frac{24}{25}\)
