If you observe the line , you can see if x is between 0 and 8 , y cannot be positive.

but what calculations did you perform to eliminate incorrect answer choices and leave a correct one ?

A. slope=33/44=3/4 DISCARD (how about here ? )
B. Slope=9/8=3/4 DISCARD (here I get, you reduce fraction )
C.Slope=6.75/9=3/4 DISCARD (And here ?)
D. Slope=3/4 DISCARD
E. Slope=12/2=6 KEEP (and here :?)

When Slope line passing through unknown point(x,y) and (0,-6) or (8,0) is equal to Slope of line passing through points (0,-6) and (8,0) then that point lies on the given line. This unknown point(x,y) is given in answer options.
A. slope of line passing through (0,-6) and (44,27)=\(\frac{27-(-6)}{44-0}\)=3/4 DISCARD
B. slope of line passing through (0,-6) and (12,3)=\(\frac{3-(-6)}{12-0}\)=9/12=3/4 DISCARD
C.slope of line passing through (0,-6) and (9,0.75)=\(\frac{0.75-(-6)}{9-0}\)=6.75/9=3/4 DISCARD
D. slope of line passing through (0,-6) and (4,-3)=\(\frac{-3-(-6)}{4-0}\)=3/4 DISCARD
E. slope of line passing through (0,-6) and (2,6)=\(\frac{6-(-6)}{2-0}\)=12/2=6 KEEP

Since A,B,C, and D match the slope 3/4 , Hence these options are to be discarded as per question stem.


Ans. (E)

P.S:- You will get the same result if (x,y)=(8,0).
