4x+12= 44
x= 8

second largest intger ; 8+4 ; 12 IMO B

What I have calculated for second largest term is 12. Explanation below.
44= mean*n
n=4
mean= 11
but here 4 even consecutive no.
therefore series will be, 8, 10, 12, 14.

Second largest term is =12 -B is correct choice.

If the sum of four consecutive even integers is 44, what is the value of the second-largest integer in the set?

A 10

E 18

If we let x = the first even integer, then the second even integer in the set is (x + 2), and so forth. We can create the equation:

x + (x + 2) + (x + 4) + (x + 6) = 44

4x + 12 = 44

4x = 32

x = 8

So the second largest integer in the set is (x + 4), or 8 + 4 = 12.

Answer: B
