Walking at a constant rate of x miles per hour, it took Jack y hours to travel from his home to his school. In terms of x and y, which of the following is equivalent to half of the distance that Jack traveled?

A xy

B 2xy

C xy/2

D 2(x + y)

E 2x/y

Rate = x miles/hour

Time = y hours

Total distance = xy

Half distance = xy/2
