In the pizza, if 8 slices cost 8 dollar, the cost of a slice is 1 dollar.

I think the answer should be C.

There are 8 pizza slices.
The cost of the total pizza is $8 (for whole plain pizza)+$2 (for anchovies on half) = $10.00

Cost per slice = \frac{$10.00}{8}  = $1.25

Dave had 5 slices - $1.25*5 = $6.25
Doug had the remaining 3 slices - $1.25*3 = $3.75

Difference is $6.25-$3.75 = $2.50. This answer when rounded is closest to C.
