In the II quadrant, \(f(x)\) is in the middle between 1 and 2 when the \(x\) value is the first dash before the origin.
Presuming it is 1.5 or something near, \(k\) will be 3 or something near.
Since the intercept is negative (as x = 0, look where f(x) meet at), we conclude it's something below 3. Hence, 2.5 it's the only value which satisfies the requirements.
