Given:
    • Roy’s cat eats 1/3 of a can of cat food every morning and 1/4 of a can of cat food every evening.
    • Before feeding his cat on Monday morning, Roy opened a box containing 6 cans of cat food.

To find:
    • On what day of the week did the cat finish eating all the cat food in the box?

Approach and Working:
The cat eats 1/3 food in morning and 1/4 food in evening.
    • Hence, in 1 day, the cat consumes = 1/3 + 1/4 = 7/12 of a can
    • Therefore, to consume 6 cans of food, the cat will take 6/(7/12) = 72/7 days = 10.3 days (approx.)

So, starting from Monday, on the 11th day or on Thursday the cat will finish eating all the food.

Hence, the correct answer is option C.

Cat food can =X

1/3(X)= morning
1/4(X)= evening

In a day 7/12(X)

Let X= 12

Roy opened 6 cans on Monday =6x=6*12=72

1 day =7

Mon to mon to Wed = 70

Thursday -only 2 , needed 5 more,

Why isn't it Friday? There is still leftover, correct? The sum says " all of the food in the box".

Consider 1 can has 12 parts, and cat eats 7 parts in a day out of 12, on Thursday it left with only 2 parts, so it emptied all cans on Thursday morning only ,
