First, we see that the rate of the a cows is b gallons/c days. We also see that the rate of the d cows is x gallons/e days. Our goal is to solve for x.
We can set up the ratio:
a / (b/c) = d / (x/e)
Cross-multiplying, we have:
ax/e = bd/c
Now we solve for x by multiplying both sides by e/a:
x = bde / ac
Answer: A
