This problem could be solved without calculation. Just utilize the unit digit concept.
New sum = 176 + 111 +199 +38 = ....4
....4 = 4 * new average (the multiplication must yield unit digit of 4)
Scan answer choices, only B & E. But E is 176 which is impossible.
Answer: B
Reduced calculation :
The increase is revenue from the error is 12$. This increase is to be again divided by all four categories then added to the existing/wrong average. so 12/4 = 3$ increase in average. 128$+3$ = 131. Option B
